Home Additions

A well-designed and built home addition can add much-needed space and comfort, and value to your home. Home additions are the most misunderstood aspect of what we do. They seem relatively simple in concept but are not so in execution. A home addition is not a box added to a home to create some extra space. It is an integral part of your new home and has to be built with the understanding that it has to tie in seamlessly with what is already there.

Three Types of Home Additions

We have a few different types of additions we traditionally build, but truthfully anywhere you add space to your home can be considered an addition. So we have just broken it down into our three main ones to show how we build each. They are third-floor additions, rear addition, and front additions. Each is an excellent way to give much-needed space and improve the look and feel of your home.

Third Floor Additions

This is hands down the most popular choice as it is the least intrusive with the rest of your home’s layout and functionality. This is the best choice for creating a little private adult space. A primary bedroom and bathroom on the third floor can be a great place to escape to at the end of a hard day. They can be built with minimal disruption to your family. Construction is straightforward as services can be run efficiently through your home; there is also a much smaller move-out time required for these additions. Usually, only until things are framed in and weather tight. Then you continue to live in your home while we complete the rest of the work. As additions go, this one checks a lot of boxes.

Rear Additions

Are you feeling a little cramped for space? You may need more room on your ground floor, or maybe an extra bedroom is something you are after. A rear addition is a perfect choice to get your ground floor layout working better and potentially add that extra spare bedroom you desperately need. The trick is not to make the new space feel cut off from the rest of the house. An excellent rear addition should not look like an addition at all; it should look like it has always been a part of your home. It should blend in seamlessly while providing you with that much-needed floor space. We do many of these builds, and we know how to ensure your home doesn’t have an addition that looks like a box stuck on the back of it. With our experienced build team in charge, your home’s rear addition will be a great one

Front Additions

Sometimes a bit of extra space is needed in the front of a home. For example, there may be a run-down porch that has seen better days. Whatever the case, a Front Addition can help take what was an eyesore and make it into that mudroom you always wanted or maybe that bigger living room you need. Front additions are another fairly popular addition; they can bring a lot of bang for a minimal dollar spend. They are a great choice when combined with an exterior facelift, as they can upgrade your home’s curb appeal in one go. We have you covered from start to finish with any front addition; our team knows how to make your front façade shine again. We will help you take your design into reality as we do with all of our builds.
